Eyebrow Shaping and Makeup Tutorial Video

By popular demand, here is a video on how I do my eyebrows! I will show you how I pluck and trim my brows, as well as how I fill them in using brow powder. This is purely for reference only, and as I said in the video, if you have never done anything to your brows before, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE find a beautician or makeup artist to help you out first!

(excuse the no-makeup scary-face by the way :p)

Circle Lens Review - Beaucon Jewel Pink

This is my review of the Beaucon Jewel circle lens in Pink. Yup, those are supposed to be pink lenses. Does it look pink to you? -___-
I bought these lenses because I saw similar lenses in brown on Popteen models. Their eyes look very nice and innocent with them, and when I know that the lenses come in pink, I decided to get them for the novelty factor. Here is the official ad pic of the lenses (they look pink-ish here):

Here are the bottles, notice that they say 14.0mm.
The lenses look sort of pink in the bottle too:

I tried them on and immediately noticed that they aren't really pink on my eyes. They are more of a peach-ish light brown, which in itself is an interesting color but, well, not pink.

Flash (looks pink here finally):
I think the design of the lenses are quite nice, it is less "complex" than my other lenses. I wish the fading part goes further in though, here they just kind of stops with a definite edge that looks a bit awkward close up.

The lenses also doesn't enlarge much at all, but that's expected since they are 14.0mm.

Even with the thick outer ring, these lenses doesn't seem to enlarge much. However, they give excellent definition to my eyes and really make them pop in a slightly freaky-looking way. :p

Speaking of thick outer rings, here are the Beaucon Jewels pink compared with the Dreamy.i green. I think they look good together, what about you?

Apart from the jaggedness in the Dreamy.i, these lenses actually look quite similar. If Dreamy.i (or even better, EOS Max Pure) comes out with a more saturated pink lens, it would be a must-get for me. :D

Here are comparison shots with EOS Adult Violet. I decided to compare the Beaucon Jewel with these because the Adult Violets have been called pink-ish by some people. I should do a proper review of the Adult Violets later.

It is quite obvious how little the Beaucon Jewels enlarge in these pics. I think the Adult Violets are bigger even without the outer ring.

Here are the lenses in their case. The Beaucon Jewels are more peach-colored, and obviously smaller than the other lenses.
FINAL VERDICT:
Design: 7/10 - They just don't look pink to me, man. Also, I have heard of these lenses described as "dead fish's eyes" and I can totally understand that
Enlargement: 5/10 - Not enlarging much, but good definition.
Comfort: 8/10 - Just the usual thickness
TOTAL: 7/10 - Get these if you like the simple design, but if you are looking for pink lenses, the Barbie Eye Super Nudy pink might be a better choice.

Video Tutorial - Earth-toned Everyday Makeup

After last week's Gyaru makeup tutorial, I figured that this blog need a more practical tutorial. So here is an everyday look that is done with more neutral earth-toned eyeshadow. This is also the first video I did using natural light, so the white balance is all over the place. :p

I am wearing Hana SPC/Hypersize Platinum Brown circle lenses by the way.

Thanks for reading/watching!

Circle Lens Review - Dueba/G&G Dreamy.i Green

The Dreamy.i are a series of new lenses by Dueba/G&G (apparently these are the same company!) that are a knockoff of the very popular EOS Max Pure series. I said "knock off" because the design of the Dreamy.i are less pretty than the Max Pure; to be honest I only got these because I need prescription lenses and Max Pure Green doesn't have that. Nevertheless these are nice looking lenses by themselves. :)

Here is the official picture of the lenses from the company. There is definitely a very big suspicion of copying the design of the Max Pure :p

The vials are your standard circle lens bottles, and the diameter is 14.5mm as indicated on the label.

In the bottle the lenses look almost fluorescent!

When I first put on the lenses in the bathroom, they looked kind of spooky and reminds me of ghosts' eyes. However, that was kind of the effect I wanted from the Max Pure Green, so it's cool.

See what I mean about ghost-ness? These lenses are the color of ectoplasm! XD Anyway, it is pretty clear that they are trying to go for the very natural, blended-in design, and it looks quite good from a distance. However, the pixel printing is not as translucent as the Max Pure, so up close they look kind of meh.

Here are some comparison with Geo Angel Green, my other pair of green lenses. The Angels are darker than the Dreamy.i, but the size seems to be similar even though the bottle said the Dreamy.i are 14.5 while the Angels are 14.0.

IndoorSince the Dreamy.i are imitating the Max Pure, I think a comparison would be very useful. Unfortunately, my Max Pure Greys dried out, so I had to use my Max Pure Browns instead. -___-

The Dreamy.i does not have the distinctive cogwheel of the Max Pure, hence they are a tad bit less natural than the Max Pure. The size also seems to be smaller.

Here are a bunch of pics of the lens inside-out, since I feel that the outer black ring is a bit too thick and I wanted more of the green. I think they look good this way too, but dunno how comfortable it would be to wear them like this. :p

Here are all the lenses I wore in this review side by side:

FINAL VERDICT:
Design: 7/10 - Compared to the Max Pure, these lenses blended less well with your natural eye color.
Enlargement: 7/10 - I don't quite believe these are 14.5mm, they look a bit smaller than that...o_O
Comfort: 8/10 - They are a bit thick, but nothing too bad.
TOTAL: 7.5/10 - Love the spooky color, but the other properties about these lenses are not that appealing. If you don't mind plano and love the color, get the Max Pure Greens instead.
