Contest entry teaser

Man, doing creative photoshop (as opposed to removing blemishes, etc.) to your own photos are such a PAIN. They always look kind of eh when I view them on another computer...dammit =___=
Anyway, here is a tiny teaser pic for a contest entry that I will be posting as soon as all the photomachopping is done. Stay tuned!

Metallic Earth tutorial + new wig!

I got my hands on this very lovely dark auburn wig, in a style that reminds me of girls in Non-no (very natural yet pretty). So I decided to try a soft earth-tone look with focus on naturally full-looking eyelashes. I think it turns out quite nicely! :)

Here are a couple of closeups to show you how it would look at the end:
I used this new Pupa eyeshadow which has very awesome metallic red-browns. I did not use primer for this look and the colors are already crazy bright!

Anyway let's get started! Put on a light foundation and concealer if needed. Do not use something heavy or too matte for this look as we are going for "natural" here.

Put a mid-brown shade all over your lids and a bit beyond your crease.

Add a darker brown over the mid-brown, stopping just under your crease and focusing the color in the outer corner.

Line your upper lashline with a black-brown eyeliner pencil, and color in your upper waterline if you like. Go over the eyeline with the darkest brown shadow in your palette. Also, put a very light application of the mid-brown (the first color you applied) along the outer half of your lower lashline as eyeliner.

Curl your lashes and apply plenty of mascara. Use a fine-toothed lash comb to separate each lash so it does not look clumpy.

Apply mascara to your lower lashes as well, and highlight the inner corners of your eyes with a shimmery light beige shade.

If you use false lashes, put on a pair that is thick but not too long. Here I am actually using two pairs of shorter criss-cross false lashes to get this full-lash effect. :)

EDIT: Here are the lashes:

Finally, color in your eyebrows, and put on the rest if your makeup.

I used an orange blush that has pink shimmers in it, and applied a lipgloss in a similar color.

Finally, put on your wig and outfit, and you are ready to head out! :D

I never noticed how large and prominent my nose is until I put on this wig with such thick bangs! XD

Hope you enjoyed this tutorial! <3

FOTD - Dark Pink x Brown

Pink is one of those very deceiving colors to wear. You would think that a color that appears naturally on your face would be easy to use, but it usually end up making your eyes look either puffy or infected. o_O

I think the best way to counter this is to throw in a bit of brow or grey for shading, and shop around to find the perfect shade of pink for your skintone. Usually if you have warmer skintone, a peachy-pink is better, while if you are a "vampire" like me, a blue-pink looks good.

I applied a light shimmer pink to the inner half of my eyelids, dark matte pink to the outer half and winging it out a bit, a shimmery red-brown in the outer V, and shimmery white to my browbone and inner corners of my eyes.

I still feel that my eyes still look slightly infected, but overall I am loving this FOTD :)

Recent Lip Purchases

, I bought quite a number of lip makeup recently, so I figure I should do a review of them. For reference, here are my lips with nothing on them:

First up is Bourjois 4D Lip Gloss in Rose Givre. This lipgloss comes with its own supply of loose glitter so you can wear it by itself for juicy lips, or turn up the sparkle by dabbing the glitter on top.

I was torn between buying this shade and one that is darker, and I now wished I bought the other one cus this doesn't really show up on my lip. However, it will still be perfect for layering over nude lipstick for plump sexy lips, and it is not sticky at all!

The gloss alone:

With the glitter:

Next up is MAC Dazzleglass in "Funtabulous". Lots of you guys dig this lipgloss, and I can totally see why! It is a ubersparkly fuschia-based gloss with blue holographic glitter, and it looks very glamorous indeed.

On my lips:

I also got "Purple Rite" Lipstick from the Style Warrior collection by MAC. It's purple, and it has Zebra stripes, both of which I looove, so how can I not get it! XD

It is not as purple as I thought, and is very wearable without making me look poisoned. The silvery sheen is noticeable but not "I forgot to wipe my lips after eating fries" shiny.
Here I combined the Dazzleglass with the lipstick for ultimate purple-ness:
Overall I am quite pleased with my recent purchases, and boy am I glad I didn't buy something that I can only wear to a dark club without scaring half the people in the room! XDDDD

FOTD - Violet Faye

After quite a few days of intensive makeup exercises (???) I decided to do a simple wearable look. This is a summery look inspired by lotuses.
  • Eyeshadows: Lavshuca (white, light and dark purple) and Majolica Majorca (green shimmer)
  • Mascara: Majolica Majorca
  • Blush: MAC beauty powder
  • Lipstick: MAC "Angel"
  • Lipgloss: Majolica Majorca
  • Brows: Kate brow powder
Seems like my foundation is starting to not match my neck...

Contest Entry - OMG Shoes!

This is my entry for Miss Rubey aka Me Myself n Makeup's Shoe-inspired contest! I heard about this contest the day before it ends, so I whipped up this look in less than an hour. XD

Here are the fabulous heels that inspired my look. I own these, but I have no idea how or what to wear them with, so they just sit on the shelf for now.

I used white facepaint, white and black eyeliner pencils, black gel eyeliner, dark grey brow pencil, pink eyeshadow and pink lipstick for this look. Everything is drawn on free-handed with no previous planning.

It was after I finished my makeup that I realized my t-shirt totally didn't go with my look, oh well :P
